Amish women from different households like coming together and hiring an Amish taxi. This way, it doesn’t cost one person or household so much to hire a taxi. They especially like doing this when going grocery shopping.
You might not hire an Amish taxi, since you aren’t Amish. But planning and carpooling with friends for grocery shopping could save you some money. It’s one vehicle, so that means one charge for fuel that everybody pays for. You all get to where you want, enjoy a nice trip together and everybody benefits by saving on transportation cost.
