It is always good to look back to vintage methods for good housekeeping. Use these 2 old time days methods to eliminate funky dresser drawers and ward off fire ants from your home.
Cedar Tree Branches For Fire Ants Repellent
Ants are friendly with most plants and trees. But not all. The cedar tree is one which red ants or fire ants stay clear of. It is a natural deterrent for ants in and around your home. In most rural areas, or homes where red ants are frequently seen, these pest tend to pack their bags and families and move into human homes when their meteorologist warn them of rainy days ahead.
It can be really uncomfortable and painful to have fire ants all over your home. They move very fast, and their bite is excruciatingly painful. They will bite into your skin and keep that grip for a long time. Then you will see a cut when you remove the ant.
No worries though. If you are experiencing a fire ant takeover in your house, use cedar branches or leaves to ward them off. Place them in corners of your home at nights. Or you can use the branches as decoration so you can have your natural ant repellent during the day too. Place the branches in pretty vases and they will sure add a touch of beauty to your home.
Cedar chips may also be used to get rid of other parasites like ticks and fleas.
Note: It is very important for you to get information about which type of cedar to use in your home.
Baking Soda For Funky Dresser Drawers
Dresser drawers have the perfect environment for bad odors to build up. They are dark and have poor air circulation. It is not a nice thing to pull out your favourite blouse and realize you can’t wear it to the meeting you are already late for, because it smells unpleasant, as it was locked up in your funky drawers.
Eliminate funky odors in your dresser drawers by placing a new box of baking soda in each drawer. Poke holes in the top of the boxes before placing them in the drawers. Let each box stand in the corner of it’s respective drawer. Over time, the baking soda will absorb all bad odors. And your clothes will smell as fresh as when you put them in whenever you take them out to wear.
