The Amish don’t always have fancy green cleaning solutions. Many today are using store-bought products. But there are still those who go the frugal and non- toxic way.
The windows on Amish houses are usually streak-free and look so warming. Especially in the evenings when they are illuminated by the soft glow of lit lamps. Such coziness and heartwarming ambiance.
Here is vintage and non- toxic window cleaner recipe from the Amish.
You will need:
2 pints water
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
How to use
Combine the water and vinegar in a bottle. Use the mixture to wash your windows clean. An old diaper is usually used by the Amish, but you can always use some other form of soft lint-free cloth.
For easy usage, you could put the mixture in a spray bottle and use to spray your windows.
Surprising right? Window cleaning is simple and uncomplicated for some Amish homemakers.
