Everyone wants their windows to be squeaky clean. They are vulnerable to dust and other elements. Some are visible and are too tiny for your bare eyes to see. But they do build up. And then your dirty windows are quite visible to everyone. That kind of hurts your pride… Right? Let’s fix your dirty windows, and have them glowing with some simple tips anyone can do.
First, you need to get rid of dust and debris. Use a vacuum cleaner to assist with that. A blow dryer comes in handy for surfacing some dust too. Make sure to get rid of as much dust as possible.
Now it is time to sanitize them. Vinegar is a natural cleaner. And it can get your windows clean without leaving any streaks. But vinegar doesn’t have a pleasant scent. So you will need a little drop of essential oil to add some fresh fragrance to your cleaner recipe.
For really dirty windows, use undiluted white vinegar for cleaning.
Here is a regular strength recipe for your dirty windows.
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 tbs lavender essential oil
Combine all the ingredients and spray onto your windows, then clean properly.
Always use lint free material for cleaning your windows. Squeegees, microfiber cloth, newspaper or paper towels are great options.
Make sure to wipe properly until you see no streaks. Also, never clean your windows when there is direct sunlight on them. The sun will dry the cleaning solution before you get to clean it up properly. And that can cause you to have streaky windows. So the best time to clean your windows is in the morning before the sun comes out in all it’s glory.
Happy window cleaning!
