It is that time of year again when everyone is cleaning their homes from top to bottom. Things and places that haven’t been cleaned from months or a year ago will finally get the chance to be spotless again. Are you doing some spring cleaning too? We have you covered. Here are some tips to get you through all the cleaning without losing your mind to the overwhelm.
1. If your pillows, blankets and those fluffy household items are smelling a bit unpleasant, but you know they are clean, sometimes all they need is a breath of fresh air. Not necessarily a heavy duty laundry day! So simply hang them outside, spritz them with favourite essential oil linen spray. The sun and breeze will have them smelling fresh in a matter of hours.
2.Clean your windows early in the morning before the sun comes out. When you clean your outdoor windows while it is sunny, the sun might dry the cleaner you are using before you complete your cleaning. So always clean those windows in the early morning to get enough time to clean up before it gets sunny, making your windows harder to get that spotless look.
3.If your faucets have hard water marks and build up around them, wrap with vinegar soaked paper towels. Let it sit for an hour or so. The build up and stains will be easier to remove as the vinegar will break down particles.
4.Run your washing machine with cleaning agents and warm water. This help to sanitize and make your washing clean and fresh. Clothes can come out smelling quite unpleasant if your washer isn’t clean. So it is always best to give your washing machine a proper cleaning from time to time. Remember to let it drain properly and wipe it clean before doing your laundry.
5.Ready to bake all those delicious treats for spring, but you can’t understand why the smell of burnt food keeps coming from you oven as soon as you turn it on? Maybe it is time for a clean. Use baking soda and white vinegar to wet burnt food that is stuck in your oven. Use cloth or sponge to clean up the mess.
