Carpets can make a home look so nice. But maintaining the carpet can be quite the opposite. Carpeting can be quite expensive. So you can’t just always throw out your old one when it gets stained. And if you don’t know how to remove those stains, your carpet will be a terrible eye soar in your home. Here are some ways to remove stains from your carpet and save your sanity.
Vinegar And Alcohol
Vinegar and alcohol are best for removing carpet stains when you mix them with other ingredients. They are great for sanitizing and help to fade stains. Mix these two ingredients with salt or baking soda.
If the affected area is dry, properly dampen the area. Then sprinkle with salt. Let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then wipe with sponge. You may need to use a vacuum to properly clean up.
Salt And Alcohol
Combine 1 part salt with 4 parts rubbing alcohol. Rub area with mixture. Keep rubbing hard until stain vanishes. This method is good for removing grease stains.
Baking soda will probably be your best bet for removing most of your carpet stains. Dampen area if it is dry. And use a stiff brush to work baking soda into the stained area. Clean up with vacuum or sponge.
Dampen area properly and apply borax. Leave it to dry. Then rub area with vinegar, water and dish soap. Repeat process as much as necessary until the stain is gone.
